A Speech on 26th January

Good morning everyone. I am here to speak about 26th January, our Republic Day.

26th January is a very important day for India. On this day in 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect, and India became a republic.

India got independence on 15th August 1947, but it did not have its own constitution. The laws made by the British were still in effect. A committee was formed to draft the Constitution, headed by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Constitution was adopted on 26th November 1949, and it came into effect on 26th January 1950.

Every year, Republic Day is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm all over the country. A big parade is held in New Delhi, where the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force show their strength. Different states also showcase their culture in the parade.

Republic Day reminds us of the importance of our Constitution and the values it stands for. It is a day to celebrate our unity and diversity as a nation.
